YourCrew Terms and Conditions

Thank you for downloading the YourCrew app from the app stores, or accessing YourCrew via our website and signing up to connect with your Crew and support your mates. While we’re not big fans of rules, using this app means we must be serious about trust and safety. YourCrew is committed to providing a 100% safe space, and we ask that all members of our community treat each other with respect, kindness, and compassion.
The ‘intended purpose’ of the YourCrew app is to facilitate regular and meaningful communication between people who know and trust each other—i.e. your Crew and the people you crew for. It aims to encourage emotional support, sharing of feelings, and help-seeking.
Important: The YourCrew app does not provide crisis or counselling services. If you or someone else needs immediate help, please refer to our A–Z Professional Help section or other available professional resources.
By downloading, installing, displaying, viewing, or using the app, you agree to the following:
1. Intellectual Property
The YourCrew app is operated by the Harrison Riedel Foundation (HRF). All intellectual property rights, including trademarks and copyright in the app, are owned by HRF and cannot be used, copied, transmitted, or reproduced in any way that infringes HRF’s rights or is unlawful.
2. Appropriate Use
You will use the app solely for its intended purpose and will not engage in any inappropriate, offensive, indecent, or defamatory activities while using the app.
3. No Crisis Service
You acknowledge that the app serves as a preventative tool for promoting emotional wellbeing. HRF is not responsible for any medical emergencies or events that require professional medical attention.
However, there are live links to third-party professional services, including Kids Helpline and 000 and other reputable organisations. HRF makes every effort to ensure that third-party links provided in the app are relevant and appropriate. However, HRF does not accept responsibility for the accuracy or reliability of information on those third-party sites.
4. Data Collection & Privacy
Activity and data on the app may be tracked and collected by HRF. Both HRF and users must comply with HRF’s Privacy Policy, which aligns with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). For more information, please review our Privacy Policy available in the app or on our website.
5. Maintenance & Access
HRF may occasionally restrict access to the app to perform necessary maintenance, upgrades, or updates. HRF is not liable for any interruptions or issues caused by such maintenance.
6. Responsibility for Your Device
You are responsible for maintaining your device and internet connection. HRF is not liable for any interruptions or issues arising from your device, loss of your device, or network connectivity.
7. Account Security
You are responsible for the security and confidentiality of your account. It is your responsibility to ensure there is no unauthorised access to your account.
8. Responsibility for Your Crew
You are responsible for choosing your Crew and for the information you share with them. We encourage you to use the Crew Wizard and select Crew who are responsible and trustworthy. HRF is not responsible for the actions or behaviour of your Crew members.
If someone in your Crew does not take their role seriously or is not providing appropriate support, we recommend removing and replacing them.
Report unsafe or inappropriate behaviour:
If someone is not behaving in line with our Code of Conduct, or is making you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or disrespected:
- Contact us at [email protected] with details of your concern.
- We will assess all reports against our Code of Conduct and Terms & Conditions and investigate according to our moderation policy.
- Where necessary, HRF may remove users from the YourCrew community to keep others safe.
9. Copyright Compliance
When uploading images, videos, or other materials that are protected by copyright laws, you must ensure you have the necessary permissions. For guidance on copyright in Australia, visit the Australian Copyright Council website. For information about copyright in the USA, see the United States Copyright Office.
10. Third-Party Links
HRF makes every effort to ensure that third-party links provided in the app are relevant and appropriate. However, HRF does not accept responsibility for the accuracy or reliability of information on those third-party sites.
A-Z Information Hub:
The A–Z Information Hub available through YourCrew provides curated links to reputable third-party websites on a range of mental health, wellbeing, and help-seeking topics. These resources are selected with care and reviewed regularly to ensure quality and relevance.
However, HRF cannot guarantee that third-party content will remain accurate, available, or unchanged. We are not responsible for any content on external websites or how users choose to interpret or act upon that information. Users are encouraged to evaluate any third-party content independently and seek professional advice where needed.
We conduct regular audits of the A–Z Information Hub and promptly remove links that are broken or lead to content that no longer meets our standards.
11. Disclaimer & Liability
Your use of the app is at your own risk. HRF is not liable for, and you release HRF from, any claims, losses, or damages arising from:
- Your use of the app.
- Your choice of Crew and the actions of your Crew.
- Your reliance on any third-party content accessed through the app.
- Unauthorised use of your account, or any suspension, termination, or interruption of the app for any reason.
12. Account Termination
HRF reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at its sole discretion if it believes you have breached these Terms & Conditions or the Code of Conduct.
13. Updates to Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. When significant updates are made, users will be notified via an in-app announcement or platform notification. The current version of these Terms will always be available in the ‘About’ section of the YourCrew app and on the HRF website. We encourage users to review them periodically to stay informed.
