Doing the Right Thing
The YourCrew Code of Conduct
Revised May 2025
Who likes rules? Not us. But because YourCrew works with young people—some of whom may feel vulnerable—we take trust seriously. YourCrew is considered a safe space. That’s why we ask all members to treat everyone in the YourCrew community with respect, kindness and compassion.
1. What we expect from you:
- Be honest and show integrity in all interactions.
- Show care and diligence in your communication and behaviour.
- Treat others how you would like to be treated. Harassment, bullying, or intimidation will not be tolerated.
- Respect and comply with all Australian laws, including those related to privacy and the protection of young people.
- Keep communications confidential as outlined in the Crew Oath—unless disclosure is necessary to protect someone from harm or comply with the law.
- Try to respond to communications or urgent messages promptly.
- Use the app and its features for their intended purpose.
- Provide honest and constructive feedback—whether good or bad, we genuinely value it.
2. What is not acceptable:
- Uploading or sharing any content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive, including content that incites or depicts pornography, obscenity, vulgarity, profanity, hate, racism, bigotry, or gratuitous violence. We follow eSafety Commissioner guidelines, especially regarding the safety of young people.
- Sharing or linking to external websites that violate this Code of Conduct.
- Engaging in any form of abuse, stalking, threats, deception, or discrimination—including targeting people based on race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, or any personal trait. Be kind. Be inclusive.
- Sending unsolicited commercial messages or promotions, including spam, junk mail, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or affiliate marketing.
3. Reporting unsafe or inappropriate behaviour:
If someone is not behaving in line with this Code, or is making you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or disrespected:
- Contact us at [email protected] with details of your concern.
- We will assess all reports against our Code of Conduct and Terms & Conditions and investigate according to our moderation policy.
- Where necessary, HRF may remove users from the YourCrew community to keep others safe.
Final word: Being someone’s Crew is a responsibility and an honour. Your actions can have a big impact. Help us keep YourCrew a safe, supportive space for everyone.
