Have you have had thoughts about dying in the past?
When you feel like this it seems like there are no other solutions - but there are.
The important thing is you get help rather than acting on thoughts of ending your life.
Contact Your Crew, your parents, a teacher or coach or a good trusted friend and ask them to help you get the help you need.
If you are about to act - Call 000 right now and tell them you are about to end your life.
Tell them where you are and wait for them to arrive.
Alert your Crew or KHL and talk to them while you wait.
It is really important that you know, and believe, that people love and care about you.
You are not alone, other people have felt this way too.
Those who have NOT acted to take their lives are now thankful they made that choice.
It doesn’t feel like it, but the intensity of this feeling will pass, so it is important that you do not act.
It is also important that you seek help.
The feelings you have are very important!
First we have to make you safe and you need to know that people love and care about you.
You deserve to be helped through this.
Ongoing actions:
- Keeping a journal can help you recognise when you get overwhelmed and to remember things that have helped you before. Try the YourCrew Journal diary and attached journal calendar to track your feelings - they are both private.
- Check-in regularly and look at your Check-in Calendar to get an idea of any patterns of when you feel like this – your Crew can see your check-ins and check-in calendar.
- Making a safety plan is a good way to remember activities that have helped in the past and to log important numbers for easy access. You can create a safety plan from your dashboard and you can access it quickly from there or the Haptic menu on your screen (iPhone only). For help with making a safety plan see A-Z Safety Plans It is also a good idea to talk it through with a trusted adult.
